Put Live People's Choice Voting on Your Pageant Website

People's Choice

Most pageants already have a website. Fans go there first, so that is where your People's Choice should be.

With Pageant Post you can put your live board on your own site. Fans see every contestant and the standings, tap the one they're cheering for, and vote.

See it on a live demo site: a sample gala on Wix, with pretend votes.

How to add it

  1. Open your division in Pageant Post.
  2. Under Put the board on your website, choose Light or Dark and check the preview.
  3. Press Copy.
  4. On your site, add an embed or HTML block and paste the code.
    • Wix: an Embed HTML element. Choose Code and paste.
    • Squarespace: a Code block.
    • WordPress: a Custom HTML block.
  5. Make the block tall enough for your board, then publish.

The board appears once your pageant is published and voting is set up.

What fans see

On your site What happens
Every contestant, with a photo or initials The order and counts follow your display setting
A tap on a contestant Their vote page opens in a new tab
The vote page $1 a vote, paid by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay
After they vote The board on your site updates within a few seconds

What you control

  • What the public sees. Ranks and counts, counts only, or nothing until you reveal the results. The board on your site follows the same setting as your Pageant Post page.
  • The look. Light or dark, so it sits well on your site.
  • One contestant at a time. Each contestant also has a card with their votes and a Vote button, for their own page or a sponsor's site.

A few tips

  • A big board. With a large group of contestants, the board scrolls inside its box. Give the block plenty of height.
  • Two voting rounds. If you run a round of finalists, the board on your site shows the round and the finalists without any change to the code.
  • Share the vote links too. The board brings in fans who visit your site. Each contestant's own link brings in their family and friends.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work on Wix?

Yes. Add an Embed HTML (Embed Code) element, choose Code, and paste. We tested it on a real Wix site, and you can try it on our live demo.

What about Squarespace or WordPress?

Any site builder that lets you paste HTML into a block can show it. In Squarespace that is a Code block; in WordPress, a Custom HTML block.

Can people pay inside my site?

Voting opens in a new tab on Pageant Post. Card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay are not reliable inside another website, so a new tab is the safe way.

Does the board update by itself?

Yes. New votes show within a few seconds, and a phone that went to sleep catches up when it wakes.

What does it cost?

Nothing to set up. A vote is $1; Pageant Post keeps 12.5% and you keep 87.5%. The voter also pays a 2.9% + 37¢ service fee at checkout, which does not count as votes.
